Roland Micro Cube 6.5 inch Speaker Upgrade
This is the end result of upgrading our Roland Micro Cube Guitar Amplifier from a 5.25 inch speaker to a 6.5 inch co-axial speaker.

EDIT:
July 1, 2009.

This mod was not very good at all. The speaker is too inefficient. Try the Jensen MOD 6-15 speaker instead. It's cheaper and a better match that sounds pretty good.

EDIT:
August 2, 2010
Figured I add how I did the Roland Micro Speaker Upgrade.

I got the Jensen Mod 6-15 from Tube Depot. The speaker is mounted behind the baffle board. It coveres about 1/3 of the port hole.

I didn't break the cabinet down. I traced the speaker circle on the outside of the baffle board after confirming the speaker would fit of course.

I drilled the baffle board just inside the circle to make perforations real close together. Then the particle board broke off. I used a course rasp to round the hole.

There's more then one way to pull that off. All I had was a jigsaw and that won't work cause of the cabinet lip. Those dremel type tools with the sawing bit would likely cut the particle board well.

I sealed the speaker to the baffle using that reusable putty type glue and secured it with screws.

At a glance you can't tell it was modded unless you knew the look through the grill to begin with
