Paid Subscription Videos?

Hey, so my buddy and I are on a new business venture and we'd like to use vBulletin as our primary website. We're planning on making a series of instructional videos in dentistry and having it available to paid subscribers. (we're dental students)

My question is: I know vBulletin has a Paid Subscription mod already pre-installed, but does anyone know how to make it work with videos? Is there an add-on that I'll need to add to do this? Is there some paid software we should purchase?

Please refer to the following link of an example of what I'm talking about: coursesaver.com/videos.php?pagename=OAT

We'd like our website to be similar to that with the check boxes on the left for individual videos or, if they want, they can purchase all videos for X number or days/weeks/years, etc.

ANY help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I think you'll need a bit more.

Thank you for the prompt reply. Do you have any suggestions of software that we should look into? Is there an add-on through vBulletin that we can use?

Do a search for this at vbulletin.org. If you don't find what you're looking for, you can request a developer to make exactly what you need.

Hi, my name is Gavin and I saw your post about selling videos online and wanted to offer an option in the form of hosting your videos on a video marketplace which takes care of all the secure storage and streaming and lets you focus on the content you want to sell. I am in the process of bringing such a video streaming website to market and am wondering whether you would be interested in trying it out as a Beta tester for free.

This website will allow you to easily sell single videos on demand, as well as put together groups of videos for sale, and even subscriptions where you can have different videos available after each payment to help retain customers and promote repeat business. You will also have control over how long a user can access a video, whether they can download a copy (and what format, maybe just allow a low bitrate version for playback on an smartphone), and whether there is a streaming cap (e.g. 5GB) before access is expired (can deter multiple users sharing a single purchase if you are worried about that).

Have a look at the site here HostStreamSell.com. The envisaged pricing is also available here hoststreamsell.com/secure_videos/sellingdetails which should be cheaper than you having to pay for dedicated hosting the videos, streaming servers, etc. Let me know if you would like to discuss this in more detail and/or you want me to set you up an account.

Gavin
