Super Administrator not working

Hello all,

I tried to make two users as super administrators on a vBulletin forum version 3.6.11 and the changes didn't work.

I added the following to the config.php file and uploaded it to its original directory:

$config['SpecialUsers']['superadministrators'] = '4,875';

My user ID is 875 and whenever I log into the CP I only get to see:
Announcement
Moderation
Statistics & Log

Some of these I cannot even view and I get the following error:
Control Panel log viewing restricted.

Is there anything that I could do to fix this problem?

Thank you,

You need to make sure that your primary user group is administrator as well. If you can't get user 4 to set your primary user group to administrator, you'll need to go to the database and manually set the userid 875 to usergroupid 6. Other than that, there's nothing else I can think of that should be inhibiting your access to everything.

Hello bigH2O,

Thank you for replying.

I am a member of the administrator group and not a member of any other group.

Is there any log or anything else that I could check or do to fix this issue?

Thanks a lot

Not any log I can think of you could check... logs would only record what you had done as an administrator. I'd double check and make absolutely sure that the modified file was uploaded to the proper location and that the owner/user settings and access permissions are correct.

If your primary member group is administrator, and your user number is listed as superadministrator in the config.php and yet you still don't have superadmin priveledges, then it's got to be a problem on your end... browser issue most likely. Try logging out of the site, clearing your cache and temporary files, shutting down the browser and restarting it. Log back in as normal and see where it goes from there. If you still don't have your priveledges, try a different browser. After that, it's time to open a ticket at vBulletin, because there's nothing else to be checked without superadmin priveledges. It could be a plugin on the site, but you can't disable those to check it with your current settings.
