I'm being spammed and i have an idea on how to stop it... But i need some help? :)

Hey there, is it just my forum that's being spammed? I mean i get like tons of spam each day... its annoying!

So i got an idea, well another admin got an idea... We want to accept all new posts before they actually appear. Is that possible? Like users can register, post and do whatever they want... but when they post new posts they won't appear until an admin has accepted it?

I hope it works, i think ive seen it somewhere in the settings before, but ive been looking for hours now and it just drives me crazy. They should organize the admin panel better ^^

And also, if you have any other tips to get rid of spam, i would appreciate it A LOT!

This will help stop spam. Stop The Registration Bots.

To cause posts to be moderated go to the usergroup manager and edit registered users and set...

"Follow Forum Moderation Rules"
"If no, posts are always placed into moderation queue"

...to no.

Of course it's best if you have a promotion is place so regular members can be promoted to a copy of the registered users group with moderate posts turned off.
