Question

Hello....

We've been using a vBulletin add-on mod to contact "inactive" members. It's been very effective in having them get an email, read some text content about what's new and be able to click links to go to our site. I think it helps keep the user base fresh and informed. That mod uses a simple HTML email approach, but I think this mod may give us better estetics and more capabilities, but I'm not sure.

For clarity, like our current "inactive" user mod, could we use this newsletter to do a job stream type run every night that automatically sends out a newsletter to every member that hasn't logged on in the last 90 days, as an example? Can we select to do mailings just by certain user groups?

Finally, we're not very computer literate, so where could we obtain assistance in designing the output code for the Newsletter to meet our graphics and presentation needs?

Thank you for your consideration....

Regards,
Badger

The system is NOT automated at this time and the only condition for sending is opt in by the member or forced selection by the admin.

If you can type, you can create emails. If you can make bbcodes, you can send rich html and text emails with no effort.

This is the purchase link. https://www.2checkout.com/2co/buyer/orderpage?sid=59078

Thanks ...

After the intial install, is there a way to make a pass through all existing user's records and set them automatically to "opt-in", thereby forcing them to "opt-out" if they don't want to receive it?

We've also got a lot of user records that their emails have become invalid and we've reset their "Receive Emails from Admin" to OFF using another vBulletin mod that manages bounces. Will EZ Newsletter ignore sending to them if that's the case?

Badger

There is a utility included to opt all in so they can opt out. Opt in all with receive admin email on. Opt out all with receive admin email off and an import commbull settings.

With those utilities, you can sort things out pretty well.

You can help....

I want to add this to our site as well as your vBPicGallery, but I'm up to my eyeballs with real life business issues right now, so it will be within the next week or so....

Thanks again...

Greg,
Quick question. Is there a variable to send to users who have logged in within the past X number of days, similar to the stock VBulletin user selection method? I looked over the screen shots and couldn't find it so I am assuming that the only way to send to certain members is usergroup based. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!

At this time, there is not a condition to select users on last activity. However, such a setting could be added easily.

Didn't think so, but glad that it can be added. Please consider putting that one on a "feature wish list" if you are keeping one. I think it would be useful (at least to me) to be able to send based on members logging in before or after selectable dates. Thanks!
