New Laptop

Im decided to buy a new laptop but i dont know what too choose
Firt i was thinking about waiting for windows vista but i think its not a good idea be the Microsoft's guineapig. So im looking for them now
The specs im thinking about are:
Centrino 2.0, 1 GB of Ram DDR2 and a X700 PCI with 128 MB would be nice.
The main use i will give the pc is office apps like ms office and adobe reader but sometimes i will use it to play some games like NFS Most Wanted, World Snooker Championship 2005, so i also need something that runs these games. I think that these spect would do it good. But now i have the problem of prices
The toshiba model costs 1750€ but i can have a discount of 6%, so 1644,06€.
Acer wants 1499€ for this, but with the discount 1409,06€. I would choose the Acer for price reasons, but the problem is if the pc has any problem it has to go to spain and if the toshiba has anything they solve it here in portugal so its faster. Do you think that spending the extra 250€ and have a better assistence is important.
Take in account that i will need the pc very often

Cool

if you have to have a computer all of the time, you need one that can be fixed localy that way you have it back faster, i would spend the extra money.

there was a price drop. Now its at 1600***8364; not 1750***8364;.
But one last question:
How much would a pc with this specs but with a nvidia 6600 cost? Does the price difference worth the gra+hics improvement, or should i stay with the x700 (it has 128 mb and is pci express 16x interface)?

I just bought a Lenovo to replace my 10 year old Dell. It came with the mobile Intel 590 processor and Win Home 64, but only 4GB of ram. I yanked the 4GB out and replaced it with 8GB and it screams. I wish it had Win 64 Pro, but Home works for the limited use I need it for.

FWIW, I won't coment on Dell builds now other than to say I wouldn't buy one. Dell used to be a great manufacturer. End of my comments.
