OK, I have 5 sites running FREEBS at this time. All have 100K to 150K rows. With the old query, the MySql Slow queries list was growing fast and the server load was up to 5.0 and 6.0 at times.

I have been testing and running the 1.13 code now overnight and the server load is staying between .10 and .30 overall. There are no, absolutly none, slow queries being recorded. So we're confident we have fixed the issue.

FREEBS 1.13 is posted.

I knew it would happen. Thirteen is just not a lucky number. If you downloaded it, you will need to do it again with 1.14. This will include a table update script to run once as well as replacement of /index.php /book.php and /p3.php.

Sorry guys, The code for 1.12 is better and does not cause server crashes, but it was brought to my attention how to do this much better and I'd prefer having the best released.

Code to come after testing. I'm working on it tonight till I'm done and tested five sites.

The updater is written and tested. The code is updated and being tested now on five sites. These are all 100K row tables or more. There is even more performance and memory optimization noticable right off the bat.

It looks like we got it, but I'm gonna let it run for a few hours.

Where is the download link please? I can't find it. And is the 1.14 release ok to use? Last post just says still testing. I have 3 sites that have been shut down by my hosting provider for using too much cpu time on the mySQL databases.

Yep, there was a serious issue and 1.14 fixes them and is posted. The performance improvement is monumental!

Hi noppid,

Just checkout my Book Store, it has astounding 35000+ books, where as there are supposed to be around 650 books on sikhism in Amazon database.

How can i reset the list so that there are only books on sikhism in the Book Store.

Empty the database and then rerun p3.php. You will not lose any indexed books in the search engines and will get the store back on topic.

You can use phpmyadmin to empty the tables, empty both, items and sims.

Holler if ya need more info.

I'm going to look into the ability to disable the dynamic adding of books for folks that do not want the store to go off topic.

I would definitely vote for that disabled dynamic adding ability. My bookstores are sitting at about 38,000 each. I think that's enough pages for now. We don't want to compete with each too much.
