Is there a way to add a second option for time between posts?

Ray,

I don't think that is possible the way we do the checks. It's cut and dry. Check for posts by user x from xdate to ydate. The posting order of each user is not correlated to see who posted when against another and the time frame between each.

We just tested it on vbulletin 4.2 and it ran fine. However, we will still post a 4.2 version that has a couple of php5 clean ups.
