go to control panel...then admin tools...then computer management.

From there...look for "storage" and below that "disk management"

You MAY have to enable the drive there and assign it a drive letter.

After you do that...you should be able to see the drive under "My Computer".

What OS? If windows 7...you may need to look for it under "removable storage".

Im at a loss on this one. Sorry.

Normally...you should just be able to plug it in and go. And if not, you should be able to go to computer management and make it show up by enabling the drive and giving it a drive letter.

If you cannot get it to work with computer management/disk management. You'll have to wait for someone else to chime in on other options Im unaware of.

Keep in mind that some of these larger hard drives dont work well with older legacy hardware (ie if you have a really old computer). It may be the bus is too slow...again legacy USB drivers etc...

Have you tried it on other computers and it works still? It had to work at some point on some computer somewhere or else it would be an empty drive and not "full of stuff". Id check to make sure it works on another computer as well so you can rule out the computer, or the external HDD itself as the issue.

goodluck
