Well i've got a great internet, for what I use it for anyways.

Bandwidth Down = 2373 Kbits/sec
Bandwidth Up = 632 Kbits/sec

On internet games such as Natural Selection, i'll usually have a very low ping of about 60 - 100. The problem is that when I go into combat (instead of just building) my ping will spike high (to like 600). This only happens in busy games of like 20 though. I'm just wondering why this is. Most people in the game have a ping and it stays the same the whole game, mine spikes :(

Advice/Insight would be helpful :)

what is the speed of your computer and video card.if the computer cant handle all the graphics then it will slow down causing a slower ping as well.you also gota keep in mind if someone is hosting a game they get the most bandwidth.

Well I got a 2.6ghz P4 wit 512 DDR and a 9600. Nothing wrong with those parts :) But no one else has this prob...

it may just be your connection to their server-I take it you are using dsl but this does not mean the whole rout between you and the server is open at your connection speed.I also use dsl and find if I send files to people on roadrunner it flies -but other people on dsl and it seems dog slow.try another game server if possible.also check the settings in the game -make sure the network is set to broadband/dsl and not dialup.
