When are the new "wave" of video cards coming that I have read so much about in Maximum PC? I'm really looking forward to em :)

The new GForce should be out this month!

The NEW ATI card is still not public. It will be released to the public later this week (or next IIRC), some press have already had the chance to review it, but cannot talk about it until ATI makes the official release later this month. The ATI cards themselves are expected to hit shelves later next month. The new gForce cards,as stated, should start appearing sometime this month.

they will both be nice cards if you have the $5-600 to throw down.the ati is the X800XT and the geforce is the geforce 6 6800 ultra.the geforce is expected to be the faster of the 2 at least at first-due to its higher clock speed, more pipelines and use of ddr3 memory.the test boards from nvidia benchmarked higher then anything ever seen before and in all the reviews I have read they say ,the difference between the present geforce fx and the 6800 ultra is like the difference between a voodoo 1 and a geforce card.that is huge.

I know ATI does have somewhat of a following....but in my own personal experience...there is no comparison of the dependability of the gForce to the ATI cards...not to even mention the drivers are/used to be a pain with ATI

gForce/Nvidia all the way!

I am a geforce fan as well -but to be honest they are in almost a dead heat anymore-either one is a damn nice card.

Today the RADEON X800 Pro was released :)
Cost is $449 USD
I'm sure it's a hell of a card!
I might get it when prices drop ;)

I'm sure it is too!

The only thing about waiting for the prices to drop..is that usually that is when the next biggest baddest card is comming out or is already released...LOL.

But I am with you...I always wait and buy things that have just been re-released in order to save the bucks! Hell Im still using a gForce TI4200...but it still rocks!
