At this stage i am only a mod, so i dont have access to the full controls BUT i am here on behalf of the forum, the admin guys are very busy so i said i would try and get info.....

You can't help them much. They have access to the questions that you don't have access to. All they can do is send you off to research issues that they'll probably only half frame for you because they don't know what they're asking about anyway. If you're a mod, your job is to moderate the users and the post. If your an administrator, you job is to keep the site running smothly with the server.

If all your doing is posting large advertisements for your porn site, then it isn't going to work. We've seen these ads before.

Sorry if I sounded rude. Perhaps I'm just jaded from the years of seeing those types of posts. You may have had the best of intentions, and if so, I apologize for over reacting.

Back to your conundrum. It sounds like the site has no real tech support. My feeling from your posts is that your admins don't know what they're doing, and even if you did know what you were doing you don't have access to punch the buttons that need to be punched. Does this sound right?

There are plenty of people willing to hold hands through the process, but the person we're helping has to have the ability to make the modifications and see the options and results of these changes. You can't ask the right questions because you can't see the options or the results. You either need to have yourself promoted to administrator on the site, with all the appropriate permissions for modifying the site so you can actually see what's going on, or have your administrator ask for help directly. There will simply be too much lost in the translation to effectively help you modify your site if mod priveledges are all you have access to.

Yes what you said is right, the 2 admin guys are only new to the job and are not 100% on what they are doing.

The first time they found the IP addresses that visited a thread it was by fluke and now when we need to get back into there and do it again, now they have no idea how they got to see those logs.

I will see if i can get promoted and/or get one of them to come here and ask ... Thank you x x x

Well if they need a tutorial, Greg has it straight up in that at $25 an hour it's a bargain. Either he or I can spend an hour or two in yahoo messenger with somebody who has and will share root and/or cpanel access and you'll be golden.
