Freecell display

My Freecell game dows not fully display when started. The 8 boxes at the top do not appear. Also any attempt to bring up Statistics causes the computer to freeze. I had not used the game in some time. In reviewing what had changed recently the only event I can come up with is I downloaded a bunch of security updates from Microsoft recently. I'm running Windows 98 (not 98 SE). The other Microsoft games Solitaire and Minesweeper work okay. I haven't seen any problems with any applications. I have reloaded Freecell from another computer, No change.

Any thoughts on what's wrong?

set your display to a higher res -at least 800X600.
