friends please accord me intricate guide of dr-dos formatting commands to format winxp. plz show the full guide too (ideally with pics). i get stuck with miniature things..
when i start formatting after some process it comes to "[DR-DOS] A:\>". i tried giving format command ..

EXAMPLE
format D: /fs:NTFS /v:Backupdrive /q

when i give this command the error shows "invalid drive or format not supported"
i tried putting in all drives ..
plz help me with full comprehensive guide **gratitude**

Looks like you're trying to use XP formatting commands from a dos A:/ disk. That won't work. If you're going to format from A:/, you'll need to use DOS commands and not XP commands. Try formatting the D:/ drive from the C:/ drive rather than from the A:/ drive and see if that doesn't work better for you. The commands you have outlined above are okay as long as the drive has been formatted NTFS previously. If not, just drop the /q and you'll be fine.
