I need any information on the RPG programming language....I II III or IV....even Visual RPG

Anyone have any good references for books and or sites that have any free tools/compilers/studio suites???

I was thinking of trying to do some work for a banking firm here, but I dont have any knowledge of this language and its not offered at school

Best I can say is we used it back in the 80's on IBM system/36 and system/38. Now your likely to find RPG on the AS/400.

Yep what noppid said.

It's an uuuuuuuugly language and not very intuitive.

well like i said....my only desire to learn it is to be able to do the bank job for some part time cash

The average RPG programmer is 50+. If I were the one hiring I'd be suspicious of a youngster applying. Be at your best.

oh i will be....

but according to the job description and pay rate...its an entry level position with hourly pay...

just would be good experience for a resume down the road....i still have 2 more years b4 my BS is complete....and 2 more after that for my masters.....but at least ill have my AS credits finished this May
