We have a utility for Commbull, Community Bulletin, which you can run from your vBulletin ACP and check the status of your member's opt in selection.

After uploading the utility, you run it and it will sort out if Community Bulletin is installed and give a report of your members status to receive bulletins. The user table is searched for the fields receivebulletin and receivebulletin_type.

Member Count: xxxx
Member's Set Receive EZ NewsLetter: xxxx
Member's Set Receive Commbull: xxxx
Member's Set Receive Commbull HTML: xxxx
Member's Set Receive Commbull TEXT: xxxx

If both EZ NewsLetter and Commbull are installed the next screen will report.

Member Count: xxxx
Member's Set Receive EZ NewsLetter Before Import: xxxx
Member's Imported from Commbull: xxxx
Member's Set Receive EZ NewsLetter After Import: xxxx

As always, backup your database before installing any new features, products or updates.

The File is posted in the downloads section.

To use this, upload the file eznl_import_commbull.php from the zip to your admincp folder and run eznl_import_commbull.php from your forums admincp url. The zip is in the downloads forum.

Where do you upload this to and how do you run it?

Thanks!

I added that to the first post.

I kind of figured it was something like that. I uploaded it to /forums and tried to run it from there, but got an error... so I though maybe I better ask.

I don't think mine is right... something is not right.

I was going to run commbull to 1 user only and see how many members (1 of xxxxx) it would send to, but I just realized Zend Optimizer is not installed in our PHP. It is being installed and I will run it shortly.

That is all of our members. It should be around 15-16,000.

Is it not also taking into to account members who do not wish to receive Admin emails? If I could just start from there, at least that would help some. Members who don't want Admin email ain't gonna want a newsletter either.

Yeah, fine, ha! I knew that was going to be the problem.

But hey, I'm kidding, it's an easy fix.

Would you like a utility that opts in only those with receive admin email set to be opted in?

Yeah... I think that option would do it well enough.

Zend has been compiled and I am about to check commbull now.

Ok, I made one script with Opt all in, Opt all out and Opt in if receive admin email is on. It's three separate operations.

It looks like that may be our only hope. Our server management says there is a bug in cPanel that is preventing Zend from compiling properly. It just messed up our forum for about 30 minutes. So... I cannot run commbull at the moment.

I also thought about this, you need to clean up. That means opt out members from EZ NewsLetter that are set do not receive admin email.

I have it coded and I'm posting it.

I'm posting EZ NewsLetter 1.0.2 as well with your requested updates as well as others.

That looks better and will at least be closer to accurate...
