Pretty good. I just need a few hours.
Thanks .... :)
Don't forget to add that CSS patch thing we needed to make it readable for your test .....
BTW, did you ever figure out why the Hotmail versions end up as "text" only?

Badger

Thanks for reminding me. Yes, we can get features like this going soon. I forgot that we needed to deal with some legal stuff first thing back from vacation, lucky us. I have not hit the ground running as I said I would. I will be tied up today again and hopefully back to normal tomorrow. I use the term "normal" very loosely too.
Just checking in. Legal stuff? UGH. Good luck on that/hope you had good luck.
I don't mean to be a pest, but definitely anxious! Let us know if you need help.
I have the code open and I'm holding out a release until I get some more data on a particular detail. But once I confirm, things will move fast.

EZ NewsLetter 1.0.9 is posted.
Thanks Greg..... :)
I'll have to start writing our second Newsletter (January) now for our members, using 1.0.9 to deliver it.
Did you remember to add that CSS patch thing we needed to make it readable for you when we did the testing for our first Newsletter using the "beta" 1.0.8?
Regards,
Doug
Yes, That should be in there. I'll double check.

Getting ready to send tonight ..... :)
Just wanted to check and see if that fix was included...
Thanks
Regards,
Doug
Yes, look in the readme. It appears that was the first fix I did.
Cool. I think the best way to do it, IMO, as long as it didn't conflict with the current setup is to have it emulate the VBulletin "Search Criteria" area when using the "Send Email to Users" feature...or perhaps enhance it. :cool: Just my initial thoughts before reviewing the screen shots once again.
Regardless, add it in and I am a buyer for sure!
This is not forgotten. The framework to include options like this is now in place.

When you get a chance you may want to look at the uninstall routines for it.
I uninstalled it to make sure I had a clean base for an upgrade from 3.7.4 to 3.8.0, just to be safe... and it left remnants of itself all over the place.
It left 2 tables and a field in the user table, not remnants all over the place, at worst. Was there something else we missed?
The changes to the base vBulletin by EZ NewsLetter in no way shape or form affect vBulletin upgrades. We have upgraded several vBulletin installs in the last few days to 3.8.1 from various past revs of vB with EZ NewsLetter installed and had no problems or conflicts related to EZ NewsLetter.
If we put the table remove and in the uninstaller, most people would lose data. So that is separate. Would you like a copy?
You can drop the tables in PHPMyAdmin or run these queries.
drop table eznl_data;
drop table eznl_foruminfo;
You can remove the column from the user table with ...
ALTER TABLE user DROP eznl;
If you need more help, please ask and we'll be glad to clear things up for you.

Yes, it left several templates with remnants in them, and my admin cp is scarred with the leftovers from where the plugin had parked itself:
*[eznl_acp_title]*
*[eznl_acp_option]*
*[eznl_acp_option3]*
*[eznl_acp_option4]*
*[eznl_acp_option2]*
No big deal, I'll clean it up... Just thought I'd point out that the uninstall routine is not clean. A lot of people are not techies and don't expect to see remnants of software hanging around when they do an uninstall.
FWIW, I didn't uninstall it for any fear of not being able to upgrade, I uninstalled it so I would have a clean system when I did upgrade. I no longer have access to downloading the latest upgrades to EZNL, which I was able to get in order to help test when I was on staff. As a result I was left with a very early version, V1.03 I think, that had enough problems in it to make me not want to use it. I don't own a license for it anyway, only had permission to use it for testing, so I thought it was best to just remove it.
If you had asked, instead of assumed, you would realize those so called remnants are the result of "YOU" not deleting all the files "YOU" uploaded.
All you had to do was say in your first post, after removing the EZ NewsLetter Product, I still have stuff related to the product, how do I remove it?
Instead you have tried to eloquently put me down. Great way to win friends and influence people.
Anyway. Sorry for the inconvenience. But I think you understand your mistake now.

Jeez man, what are you getting so defensive about? I was not trying to put you down at all.
All I did was suggest that you look at the uninstall routine so that it takes care of things automatically. You've got two other mods that I had installed that I uninstalled also, and both of them brought the system back to the pre-installed state, so I just figured you got so wrapped up in the development that some things got overlooked in the uninstall for EZNL.
It was only a suggestion to make the product better and was in no way an attempt to put you down. Sorry if you took it that way.
Ron,
This is a personal note. I got defensive because of your use of certain words. We've known each other long enough to understand each other. Let's not play hide the intention here. We know what happened by the tone and the time of the post.
I appreciate the heads up, but not the style and I will call you on it every time.
It's no secret that because of requests this application has gotten big and has had some bugs. However, those that have purchased the app and are in testing with us already know that when I feel this is right, they are going to get the necessary extensions in their subscriptions for their polite help. More if I can do more. It is worth it for me to have polite concise non condescending feedback. Their actions will be rewarded with as much appreciation as I can show.
Reward systems work on mutual respect and understanding. Think about it. :)
For the record we are working with a couple of established experts in getting the email through, and while I will have to work my tail off to get to EZ NewsLetter 2.0 out with all the necessary changes to get the mail through in html and text to all possible email clients, web and computer based, and render correctly, I am committed to it.
I don't have time for semantics like this and you have not helped me, but wasted a bunch of my time while I stroke your ego. That's not my job and I won't be able to continue to indulge our friendship if it's this much effort.
Think about it. It's lonely at the top when you know it all and no one can tell you different.
