VH1 took a look at what they proposed were the greatest album covers of all time. Their top ten was:
10 Nothing's Shocking, Jane's Addiction
9 Doggystyle, Snoop Dogg
8 London Calling, The Clash
7 Ramones (1st LP), The Ramones
6 Houses Of The Holy, Led Zeppelin
5 Like A Virgin, Madonna
4 Dark Side Of The Moon, Pink Floyd
3 Nevermind, Nirvana
2 Who's Next, The Who
1 Sticky Fingers, The Rolling Stones
While all of these (except maybe Madonna's entry) are all pretty cool, and I have many of my own favorites, a few on my list would have to be:
5 Fire of Unknown Origin, Blue Oyster Cult
4 Wish You Were, Pink Floyd
3 Waiting for Columbus, Little Feat
2 The Number of the Beast, Iron Maiden
1 Relayer, Yes

5 1984...VanHalen(I dunno..somethin bout baby angels smoking ciggs is cool)
4 Catch Scratch Fever...Ted Nugent(that cover makes anyone want to be a rock star)
3 Sgt Peppers...The Beatles(Alister Crowleys presence has to count for something!)
2 LedZep4...LedZep(just for the cool fact that you can hold the unfolded cover to a mirror and see a demon and midget unfold)
1 Powerage...AC/DC (that cover scarred my brain at a young age because Angus has no hands on that one...just neon strands emitting from his sleeves)

Very simple for me to pick my all time favorite (and I can't beleive it didn't make the list):
Diamond Dogs - David Bowie.

Ha ha beat me to it. I would also like to add:
"You can tune a piano but you can't tuna fish". (album sucked but come on it was cool)
And: Emerson Lake and Palmer- Brain Salad Surgery

Asia
I've been holding out mentioning some of the YES album covers, because it's actually Roger Dean Art. But What the hell., Dave opened the door with the ASIA cover.
YES albums from 1972 to like 1980.
Here's Roger Dean's work...

I liked most all of the incarnations of Rainbow Dio/Bonnet/Lynn-Turner, etc... and Rainbow Rising was a pretty cool album cover too.
