IE6 Installation problem

Downloaded IE6, but it did not install. Looked for the setup file, found two. Each tells me to install a previous file. Found an Internet Explorer Q* in Add/Remove, but it will not uninstall...tells me Missing INF File. As a result, having trouble with Windows Explorer and some website problems, also, appear to be linked. Any suggestions on how to get rid of that Internet Explorer Q thing in Add/Remove?.........which does not show up when I search the computer for it.

If you have a broadband connection, try using Windows Update to install IE6 and other Windows updates.

Is that what you're using? Usually, you're not required to search for the setup.exe file when using Windows Update -- it will install without any user intervention.
