Guys 'n' Gals,

A month or so ago I tried to plug my Sandisk USB pen (http://www.popvoucher.co.uk/cheap-sandisk-cruzer-micro-8gb-flash-pen_lid-ommhmmco.html) into my PC (XP SP2) to download some photos. The Usb pen said it was being charged but the PC seems to have no inkling that it's connected. I can't force it to pick it up when it can't see anything there at all. I've not been able to connect it to the PC since.

Can anyone suggest what might (not) be happening?

Thanks,all

Are other USB devices recognized on that port?

Are you hooking it up to one of the usb ports built into the computer, or to an external hub (built into the monitor, keyboard, etc)? In my experience about half the usb devices I own won't work on an unpowered hub, but will work on the usb ports built into the computer or on an externally powered hub.

Finally, go into device manager and check to see if there are any annoying little yellow exclamation marks beside your usb devices. If so, uninstall that device and let windows re-install the device when it boots up. If you still have exclamation marks after reinstalling the devices, you probably have a hardware issue.

My device manager can't display my Usb pen.

What happens when you try the same thing on another computer? Will it download your photos there?
