This is a milestone release of the new browser from the mozilla folks. It is a new project based on a new lean engine, not gecko/netscape.

It has a popup blocker and other features listed here (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/).

Why should you switch? (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/why/)

I like it and have made it my default browser.

it is nice -and you can load just the plugins you want -unlike M$ IE that just comes the way it is -like it or not.

It is an excellent browser...though it's still a bit to "Netscape-ish" for me. I was never a big Netscape fan. I use the 1.4V...I'm trying to force myself to use it all the time, just because of the security issues. I'll get there eventually....

Just remember that it is still beta....isn't even to ver 1.0 yet....so make sure if you use it you aren't afraid of buggy proggys...

IMO it renders pictures, graphics, and colors better. Like the original icons I posted. They were .png files with transparent backgrounds. IE rendered them with white backgrounds. That forced me to color the backgroungs to match the table color so they didn't appear square.

I found the install on linux a breeze too.

Oh well, the browser wars continue.
