vBPicGallery 10.6.0 Feature Requests

Since 10.0.5 was published, the old vBPicGallery wish list was pretty much satisfied. So, now it's time to ask again, what would you like to see in vBPicGallery 10.6.0?

Ability to search Desc2 Desc3 like Desc1.
The reason is I have used:
Desc1 = RV-Manufacturer
Desc2 = Chassie Manufacturer
Desc3 = Type of RV

Ability to search Desc2 Desc3 like Desc1.
The reason is I have used:
Desc1 = RV-Manufacturer
Desc2 = Chassie Manufacturer
Desc3 = Type of RV

I don't know what to do with that yet. Desc1 is searchable and sortable.

Yeah, rather then the number of each going up, we can have .6 and if I screw up 6.1 and so on. The next release combined with the recent changes are pretty major.


For what it's worth, I just added the ability for members to have a featured photo displayed when other members visit their gallery. Notice this gallery never changes. http://www.cpurigs.com/forums/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=109 Create or edit a test gallery to see how it works.

We added the image id to the edit image list and an input box to put the image id in below the editor box. If a number is set, the image is featured. If 0 is set, it's random. If they use an incorrect number, meaning they don't own the image, it will be random.

I still think it would be a great idea to have the members searchable. a field where you can input their screenname & it will automatically search the member listings to find it for you. shouldn't be much more effort above the current search ability.

The Desc1 and Desc2 must be dropboxes to filter the cars by Marc and Model. Desc3 (Year) a advanced searchable field (between xxxx AND xxxx).

Here is the link to member profile? Must have it in they gallery! Search by member it's a must!

That is not planned at this time. Similar results are built into the member profile.

I would like to see TWO fields: "Category" and "Type" and allow Admins to set tthe variables in the AdminCP. Such as: Category = "Vehicles" and then Type = "Trucks", "Sedans", "SUVs" etc OR Category = "Flowers" and then Type = "Tulips", "Roses", "Daisies"...you get the picture.

Then have the ability to link a Forum to a specific Category/Type grouping that users could then go in and only see Galleries in that Category/Type grouping. This would enable Admins to create Gallery of the Month type threads for specific Categories/Types that users could then rate/vote etc...yeah...add a rating system too!!! :D

It's a terrific product as it is. Thank you for considering our suggestions.

Categories have been a requested addition for quite some time now. The reason I want/need categories is that some people may have multiple cars/truck/jeeps... therefore they would need a separate category for each one to keep things organized.

I'd love the ability to upload multiple images at once, via a usergroup permission option (ie. admins get 10 upload slots, registered users get 5 upload slots, etc). This one of the few complaints I get with this gallery software. It takes a long time to upload several images. It would be easier and far faster to batch upload the pictures, and edit their descriptions afterward.

It may make in in eventually, but right now we're just trying to get onto 3.7 and stable.

A public gallery would be nice too. I run an automotive site and in addition to having individual member galleries, I'd like to have galleries that are public that all members can contribute to. (like "car shows" or something similar)

Looks like 3.7 gold is not too far off, so something will hit the street soon.

That's a good idea, we'll look into what it would take.
