I've seen the video. Fans are part of the game. He did what any fan would have done. They are using this guy as a scapegoat to mask a crappy ball club.

Couldn't agree more! Just saw a report on TV, where one of the Newspapers published the guy's name and where he works. The TV report also said he was a lifelong Cubs fans and coaches Little League. Shame on all these grown up children, trying to ruin a guys life over something like this.

Yep, I guess it's fair to say - in more ways then one - if you're a Chicago fan, you're a loser.

Reminds me of a movie that Sandra Bullock was in...she was sitting at a ballgame with Hugh Grant watching the Yankee's play and she caught a ball that could of been caught by the catcher...and she got boo'ed and all that crap.

The ball clubs forget that if it weren't for the fans, they would have no job. They need to lay off this guy and quit blaming him for having a crappy team in the first place. That one catch wouldn't of made a frickin' bit of difference in the long run. The Cubs are still losers.

Well, I live in chicago and am a cubs fan. I would say what the fan did was wrong because he was not thinking about it as all of us would have. But the media out here is on there own with this one, not many people are supporting them in this. Nobody made gonzo miss that possible double play to end the inning. But the media are not repersenting the chicago people, well at lest most of them. They are just trying to sell papers.

Nope, they do not appear to be accurately representing the intelligent, civilized people of Chicago. Good thing we have you to set us all straight...

Seriously though, any person at a ball game (including all the other drunk idiots at Wrigley) would have done the same thing. It is easy to judge him after the fact.

IMO the error by the shortstop mattered way more in starting that rally then the missed foul ball.
