won't let me download?

Hello,

Suddenly I am having trouble downloading things. I just tried to download AVG and that won't download. I get a message "Internet explorer cannot download..." . The internet is working (obviously since I am able to write this thread). What could be the problem? It's been happening for everything I try to download so it must be some kind of problem.

Since it is happening in other things I would suspect your Browser (IE Exploder) A few questions I have would help to diagnose your problem such as what OS you running as well what version of Explorer are you using and have you recently upgraded Explorer or the last download you git (what was it ???

It's Internet Explorer 6. At one point ( a few months ago) I did download Internet Explorer 7 but I uninstalled it. I have Windows XP.

Well were you able to download right after you uninstalled IE 7? Try going to Tools at top of Explorer and click on it then select internet options then go over to the Advanced Tab click on it scroll down to the Restore Defaults and click it check Apply then ok then reboot your computer .
