Have you ever tried to explain to members how to put attachments inline in a post? It's a bit difficult sometimes telling folks to read the url, find the attachment ID and then make the BBCode.

So, to make the process easier, we coded a simple template mod for the attachments manager popup window in vBulletin.

It's an easy modification to the newattachmentbit template.

Download the attached txt file and change one template with two edits. That's all there is to it.

Now your members can easily get the inline attachment codes and dress up their posts. Don't forget to tell them how. ;)

Awesome Mod, Greg! Thank you. Unfortunately I still cannot get my membes to understand how to use img code. :P

I have similar issues with conveying to my members any kind of code. But yet they want to do it. It's tough. So, this was the result.

I don't recall seeing anything like it before. The vBulletin FAQ is even vague.

I told you I'd post results Nop. This hack works on 3.6.7, but it appears that some image handling has been changed with 3.6.6(?). The image /image tags are now inserting a thumbnail inline instead of the full image.

Not sure about that. I'd have to check. Do you have display inline photos as thumbnails set? I am thinking there is such a setting.

Thanks, I'm gonna have a look at it, this sounds good.

For clarity, does the code at the bottom need to be added someplace as well?

It starts with <!-- reference -->

Thanks

The stuff below <!-- reference --> is just a note I made. You can ignore it.
