Why doesnt it work? Very confusing as with XP everything was plug and play.
And of course there is no Vista Driver.
Now my sd card slot doesnt read the cards and needs a driver, it used to work, now it doesnt.. Laptop is only a week old...

Its Vista!
If you bought a new machine with an OS on it that doesnt work with your periphials and its under a week old. I would take it back and ask for a refund or trade on a slightly older model that has XP.
I personally wont even think about using Vista until after the first or even second Service Pack is released.
And for all of you that remember back when XP first was released...there were these same types of issues. Its the price you pay for the newest OS I guess. I prefer to use what works until the newest OS has been out in the field for at least 6mo's to a year.

Zero is dead nuts right. As far as your mouse goes, it's more than likely your usb ports and not the mouse. Go to your pc's website and see if they have any updated drivers for your laptop.
But my best advice is to take it back and make them fix it while it's still under warranty.

Thanks for the responses. I was told the "new Os" thing before and to hold it out.
My wrist is killing me and have even went as far as using my Wacom every now and then to get away from the laptop mouse pad.
I bought it @ costco so I can return it for up to 6 months.... (FYI: Costco has changed their return policy to 90 days on all major electronics)
One solution I found is when searching for drivers you direct the search to the windows folder.

Yeah, Vista is pretty shaky right now. It's going to be a couple months before they iron out the kinks.
