Frankly, I dont like it.

Let me explain why.

Here is my photo gallery with the old version: Joeychgo on LVC (http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=375)

Now here is the new version with virtually the same gallery and text: Joeychgo on Chicago Velocity (http://www.chicagovelocity.com/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=1)

Now, because I chose to actually use the gallery to its potential, the page has a big blank area where the photos once were.

Yep, and on galleries with less content, it works fine.

It's a trade off so far, one or the other has an anomoly. In my experience, long descriptions are not the norm, so the new layout works better.

But, I think what we need to do is offer both in some way. or lose the two columns and make it one with the text wrapped around it.

Suggestions?

It would be nice if there was some -- automatic -- way to make it happen.

If the text area contains x amount of text then the gallery goes on the right. If it contains less then x - then the gallery goes underneath.

Interesting idea. I wonder if folks would embrace that?

I agree with Joey.

Maybe for the moment just give instructions on how we can hack the new 10.x.x template back to the old style? Please!

I have members 'complaining' that the thumbs are now in a smaller area and they need to scroll down to see them all. Is it not possible to have an admin function to turn scrolling off so all the thumbs show.
