My CPU will not boot because of missing or corrupt file to wit: ...system32/config..... and our good friend Bufordt has sent me disks. How exactly do I fix it? Recovery console isnt exactly user friendly and I am being very cautious, I cannot afford to lose what is on that drive!!

Please, Please help...

Okay, I am currently running the CHKDSK /R to hopefully repair any problems it did find when I only ran the CHKDSK with no option.

Any input is greatly appreciated, Thanks

Wooooohooooooo!!!! Thank you Bufordt.

I had to create a new boot partition and repair it because it seems the original boot record was toast, but anyhow I am up and running. Thanks to the immense help at CHF :D
