hi there
hope i can make myself understandable.

For 2 weeks i suddenly have this problem.

whenever i open up something, it comes up in Full Screen Mode, and not
a smaller window like normal.

If it is a new letter in outlook, Alt-ctrl-del (window task manager), or
pages within a internet site. "in the old days" a new page would open op in ex. Half page size (i know you can decide the size).
but now everything opens up in Full Screen (maximize size), so for me to return to the original page, i have to press the bar in the toolbar in the buttom.
If it would open up in minimize size, but the whole screen, then i can make it smaller, and after a few times, it will automatically opens up in this size.
but i don't have this option anymore.

i have tried to change all kinds of options, but nothing helps.

can anyone help??

have a nice weekend
ofer

Is it full screen or maximized. If it's full screen you won't see a toolbar at the top. Hitting f11 will bring it back to normal.

Anyway, windows remembers window sizes and positions. (for awhile anyway). Once you get the window the size you want. Hold down one of the shift keys and close the app. That will force windows to remember how it was when you last closed it, and will open it the same way. Then in windows explorer, click on tools and then folder options. Once there, click on the view tab, then scroll down until you see "Remember each folders view settings" if it's already checked, uncheck it and click apply, then recheck it and click apply. If it's not checked then check it and click apply. Windows should start opening your apps normally.

There is one more thing to try. If you are clicking off a desktop shortcut or from the start menu. You can right click on the shortcut and choose properties. In the shotcut properties you may see a drop down box that says run. Click it and you'll be able to choose: Normal window, Maximized, or minimized. That will tell windows how to display the window when you open the program through that shortcut.

Good luck

There are conflicts with certain toolbars also since many toolbars are not ready for IE7, so if you have a bunch of old toolbars delete them all if you are having problems with IE7.

I was having major problems until I deleted a bunch of toolbars after the upgrade to IE7.

Get a good registry cleaner too, like cccleaner.com it is a free download (http://searchwars.squarespace.com/free-software-downloads/).
