When we started using vBSEO (http://www.vbseo.com/374/) one month ago on the motorcycle forum (http://www.riderinfo.com/), we were in supplemental listings with Google. We were doing SEO to improve rankings, but while that resulted in some new traffic and some pages coming out of supplemental listings, the listings were somewhere around page 88 when using the Google "site:" command.

Last week we checked the SERPs for the motorcycle forum to see if vBSEO was helping anything. There were noticable changes in listings, but again, they were up around the 80th page mark. The pages before that were supplemental still.

Today the motorcycle forum is finally listed from page one of the Google site: command normally, no more supplemental results (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLJ***37;2CGGLJ%3A2006-37%2CGGLJ%3Aen&q=site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.riderinfo.com%2F&btnG=Search).

We were seeing new traffic too. In fact, we saw more traffic then in the past several months, 50% more then in some past months. Traffic was increasing before vBSEO was applied, but there appears to be a spike after vBSEO.

In the month we have been using vBSEO, we have seen traffic increase quickly to above past trends and have finally moved out of the supplemantal listings.

As a comparision, this forum, The Computer Help Forum, which has had the most common SEO changes, and then some for vBulletin, applied and likely has more backlinks, is still in supplemental listings. The listings are getting shuffled and supplementals end at about page 55 when doing a google "site:" command, but it's not happening as fast as the vBSEO forum.

It appears that the vBSEO forum is being treated with more preferance then the non vBSEO forum at this time. We will keep tracking though to compare the data in the long term.

Hmmmm..... maybe it's time for some of those mods we've been discussing for the motorcycle forum... ya reckon? Strike while the iron is hot, and all that other silly stuff.

If you don't mind me asking: What kind of hit have you taken on server load? I just downgraded to the Essential VPS package, Signature was too expensive because I wasn't using the resources.

At any rate, my forum is about 200 members strong, I know eventually I'm going to have upgrade but is vBSEO going to bog down my VPS?

Thanks :)

My forums are not the busiest, but right now it's.

load average: 0.09, 0.09, 0.08

It was lower when I first started top. Now mind you, I did tune the server. I also use IonCube and apc cache 3.0.12p2.

It has been a good experience for me so far.

It's a big deal to understand and I can see that some new or less experienced admins could be confused by it. But even at that, the support is very good, so even they could get it installed and working if they plan well.

I have come across your help more then once. Thanks!
