Sorry I've forgotten to reply sooner, i thought you'd like to know that the network card turned out to be the culprit...your suspicions were correct! It was replaced and this pc has been working fine since then.
Now, as promised, lol, I am back with another problem...this time it's really scary. Kinda of a long story but I will try to fill you in as we go along...
I am pretty sure my pc'(s) caught a virus this afternoon.
I am currently using the windows2000pc, as the other one (win.ME) is not working at all. The msg I got was : The following file is missing or corrupted: C:\WINDOWS\IFSHLP.SYS. Now I don't know much but that does sound ominous. I think it best that a start a new thread about this...I'll be back later.
