hi there!
my name is Adam
im 17 years old.
i have been into model rocketry for about 3 years.
i launched my first rocket at an astronomy club event about three years ago.
I currently fly using engines in within the A through D range.
i have two rockets currently built, the estes ionizer and the estes gemini DC.
the ionizer has flown roughly 19 flights, but i have grounded the gemini DC due to failed stability tests.
i have owned an estes LongShot two stage rocket, but this crashed due to a failure of uper stage ignition on second flight.
i am currently working on an estes baby bertha rocket.
the next rockets in the construction process include an estes bullpup and an estes mercury redstone.
watch this space for more information.

Greetings from the Tampa/Hillsborough Organization of Rocketry----THOR, NAR Section #598--Tampa, FLA, USA:
I just returned from a 100 rocket launch set up by the Hillsborough County's Garland V. Stewart Middle Magnet School For Aviation and Aerospace.
100 pads and 100 rockets to celebrate 100 years of Aviation since the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk. The entire 6th grade student compliment built one rocket each and the wood shop teacher built the 100 pads on 5 sawhorses using a plan suggested by THOR
All 100 igniters fired but only 80 rockets lifted off. Almost all of the rockets were featherweight tumble recovery vehicles that ejected both motor casings and nose cones. There was a great deal of parts covering the field and the local TV station camera would have been covered in smoke had they not back away in the last seconds of launch.
It was a great event for the students. WHile the 100 rockets did not leave the pad, it was not because of electrical problems. ALL igniters fired .
Manuel Mejia, Jr.--Section Advisor, THOR.
Glad you could join us and share that, it musta been a blast! (pun intended)
I have not yet attened any organized launches thus far. But I hope to reach out and find launchs to possibly attend in the future.
My son is about ready for scouts. If and when that happens I hope to get the troop involved in at least one build and launch.
In my searches for information about rockets and supplies it occured to me that the community did not have a medium to exchange information other then mostly static web pages and email. That is what inspired me to add the Rocket/Modeling discussion forums here at lakecs. I hope to reach clubs state wide or even nation wide.
Thanks again for coming by.

Hi!
I'm also with THOR. We fly the 3rd Saturday of every month just a little east of Brandon. It's a bit of a drive from Lake County, but I've been doing it since I moved here from the Tampa area in 1996.

President - THOR
Great to have you guys come bye. We're hoping this topic attracts some attention.
I'll talk to Dave, he's much closer to you then I am. I'll see if we can plan a trip from Lakeland to see you guys launch.

I would also like to welcome anyone in the central Florida area interested in rockets to check out the ROCK (http://www.r-o-c-k.org) rocket club.
Thanks for coming by!
Please feel free to invite your friends to come by too. We're hoping to create a central web location where anyone in Florida can exchange information and tips about Rocketry and modeling. We actually have one member from Wales, UK and others from around the USA interested in modeling.
I hope to visit clubs like yours at a launch one day.
For now, see you on the forums.
