I did a backuck of vbulletin via the asap, but I'm having trouble restoring.
I've imported the backup via phpmyadmin, and all the 'old' data shows up there, but it doesn't reflect on my forum.
I've checked that the backup and vbulletin database details are identical.
Any ideas what I'm missing here?
Thanks.
Are the datebases in the vB config.php and the database you restore to the same?
If the process is completing but the data not matching, my guess is the data is going to a different place then intented.

The database mentioned in config.php is the same as the one (the only one) on the new server. Should I have pointed out that the backup came from a different server than the one I'm attempting to import it to?
I can't find a mention in the sql file of a database.

I got it sorted.
My new host has a 'reload' button for MySQL.

Interesting, do you have any details on that?

Yeah. Basically, you can import a backup, but it stays in a 'temp folder' until you hit that button, then it goes live.
Nice feature, even if it isn't well documented :)

hmmm interesting... that is a pretty neat feature. Do you have cPanel, Darwa?

I was going to suggest that you re-index the database after doing the restore, but perhaps the "reload" function handles that for you.
