on the news tonight there was a story about the "newest security program " at the airport.they are starting with "test" airports then going to all of them by next summer.they will assign all passangers a color code according to risk.the risk will be determined by the following -
1) a criminal background check will be run on all passangers at check in -
those that have no criminal background will be flaged green and will be subject to all the normal screenings
those with a criminal past will be flaged yellow and will be subject to a broader search and screening
those with any outstanding warrant will be flaged red and the police will be called

2)where you are flying out of

3) where you are flying to

4)and one other item I am too angry to remember

we as Americans need to put a stop to this intrusion on our rights now-the government has gone too far and will not stop here.the thing to do is if at all possible ,do not but airline tickets-and write the airlines to tell them you will not fly untill this ends.anyone that accepts this does not deserve any rights in my opinion........

This is right up there with the Nazi's making Jews wear yellow stars!

Sad state of government we live under currently!

some may think I am making more of this than is needed -but the next thing we know there will be checkpoints at all the state borders-they already did away with the wire tap laws under the guise of national security -if people don't open their eyes 1984 will become a reality in our lifetime.

Well, I'm guessing, but I think I am a bit more of a "moderate" than this crowd, but...

I am not so offended by the loss of some freedoms for security, but... more so by the sad reality that any such security measures will be almost certainly implemented poorly by the government.

I fly occasionally, and I flew right after 9/11. I recall last year being frisked at the airport and asked to remove my shoes (as most probably remember the infamous shoe bomber was still a fresh memory). I was not offended at first, but I was after I got a good look at how this process was handled.

In the four different airports that I was at I noticed an odd repeating pattern. All of the "highly skilled" government screeners were overweight middle aged minority women with poor english and poorer attitudes. Additionally, all of the people chosen (supposedly at random) for "extra scrutiny" were white males of 35 years of age or older.

Last time I checked, none of the "miscreants" involved in any of the 9/11 handiwork looked like Ted Koppel, so...

Maybe the government needs to hire me to make them a checklist for pointing out the "risky" people instead of leaving it up to the whim of the idiots they got doing it now.

Just my opinion though...
