View Full Version : EZ Archive Ad System for vBulletin
The vBulletin archive system is very good for attracting the search engine spiders and can result in many indexed pages in the SERPs as well as generate revenue. However, for the average vB admin, modifying php to put ads in the vBulletin archive may be a bit more then their experience allows for. As of vBulletin 3.5.4 things have changed a bit in how the archive is configured. So we saw a need to simplify and automate the ad process.
As a result, we present the EZ Archive Ad System for vBulletin.
With this vBulletin Archive Ad System you can add a top banner to your archive, a top ad, a right sidebar ad, a left sidebar ad, and a bottom ad. You can configure the system to show any or all of the above. You can control the alignment of the ad on the page and the width of the two sidebars. All of these controls are in the ACP. The installation is to upload one vBulletin Product file. Then you just setup the configuration in one easy screen.

EZ Archive code may not be copied, reposted or redistributed.

I still feel that this is the most mis-understood aspect of managing a vBulletin forum, many owners disable the archive altogether because they are unsure of how it will be indexed, thinking that they will get hit hard with duplicate content penalties!
I feel there is a great need for discussion leading to more available data that will hopefully educate vBulletin owners on this subject so they can be sure of what they are doing with their archives!
Glad to hear that. Is it working as expected for you?
I don't know...where do I check to see if this is working for me?

In your archive of course. If you see the additions you applied showing, then all was successful.

well 3.6.4 is out now, jeez I'm afraid to upgrade. Oh try reinstalling the ads plugin again, maybe it will work if you set to override.
I have been trying to remove some type of malware that hijacked me... for 13 hours today. What a way to spend my day off. I am very aggravated.

Ads are generally Yahoo! ads and Google adsense ads. They can also be affilaite ads or ads you sell yourself.
To change the colors of your archive, edit the archive.css file in that folder.
To edit the "EZ Archive Ads Finish" plug in. The link back is required, but you can edit out the things you have asked about. It's also set to show the link back on only one page.

The browser has nothing to do with the link colors.
The coloring is controlled in the archive CSS file. The archive doesn't use the style colors.

yes, err.. I disagree, there is no where to change LINK text colors (not regular text color, this you can change) in the archive.css file... so I change my IE link colors and they changed. Have a look at yours and change the link colors in your browser. I'm a moron but not that much of one...lol. Really!
