Have windows xp in old computer with outlook express address book. Want to copy from that machine to new one also with xp and outlook express. I have an external hard disk but when I copy outlook express address book from old machine to the external hard drive and then connect extenal hard drive to new machine am unable to move the data. In fact, there doesn't seem to be any data in the hard drive address book folder.

You can search your directories and find the addy book. But I just go to Outlook Express and do this...
Click File, Export, Addybook, Text File (Comma Separated Value)
Then put checkboxes by everything....
Save to somewhere.....prolly should fit on a floppy..its all text ya know.
Then do the reverse on the other machine....
Import, OTHER Address Book notice I said OTHER Address Book, Text File (Comma Separated Value)....etc etc etc.....
Or again...you can search for the addy book file and just copy it and just copy it back into the proper directory you took it from on the new machine
