great to see so many familiar faces running around! I am having a major issue with 2 desktop computers. Ijustinstalled a brand new ECS MB and AMD 2400 processorinto a new case for my nephew. Along with a new Gainward AGP Vid Card. I pulled my 512 DDR Ram from my desktop. I get no video on the monitor. Computer does fire up (fans blowin and goin). I pulled my SIS AGP Vid card (known working) and installed it instead, still no video. I then re-installed my RAM and video card back into my desktop, NO VIDEO! I pulled a ISA video card from my docking station for my laptop, no video. re-installed itto the docking station, works great. Iam guessing thisis something in the BIOS, but I can;t get into the BIOS to fixit beacaus of the vid cards not working. HELP!!!

there is a jumper on most motherboards to reset the BIOS or CMOS
try that...

did that. now, it powers up, runs a few seconds, then shuts down. still no video.
Try booting with no disk drive cables connected.
Is this a replacement MoBo? Do ya have enough power supply if so?

are you getting any "diagnostic beeps"
if so.....try removing and reseating the RAM and the CPU
also check to see that you installed the RAM in order....and its the right type of RAM

also make sure that the jumper for the clock speed is set correctly(133mhz for a 2400+).are you sure you put the heat sync on the right way ?(with the groove facing the white bar in the processor slot)if not you may have cracked the core.be sure the case speaker is hooked up and let us know if you are getting any beeps.also be sure you are using at least a 300watt power supply with a 2400+.also be sure the AGP card is seated all the way -after you screw it down.

Bad processor was 1 problem, another was the clock speed. Thanks for all the input!
Both running strong and fast. Thanks again
