Maybe you had more then one version?

Check your programs folder for more installs.

I wasn't aware there was a better anti virus software than AVG... especially for free. What are you trying to "upgrade" to?

anti-vir is better then AVG, Notron and McAfee.

I know that for fact.

It's a free 5 month trial now then cost 20$ euro.

Maybe a registry clean up would help?

I don't know of one. I'll look in a few places. In the mean time someone else may.

You might want to take a look at Tune Up Utilities 2006. They offer a trial ware version that may give you enough insite in your registry to find your problem areas. It's a worthwhile program for the 40 bucks they ask for it though.

There's always the totally free, although not as easy option. Regedit or regedt32 and the famous Alt/Edit/Find search and destroy method.

Nop, I'm curious as to your evaluation of anti-vir. Can you do a writeup on your opinions of this over AVG for us... maybe start a new thread? It goes without saying that pretty much anything is better than Norton or McAfee, but I'd be interested in your evaluation what anti-vir gives you over AVG. I've been recommending AVG for a long time now, but always like to stay on top of things.
