I'm starting my own Ebay business by buying and reselling PC related stuff, now granted, I'm only in 9th grade so I don't think I'm going to be swiming in cash. But I've got say that there are some awesome deals out there. And as stated in the rules:
No posting of urls to any sites that sell merchanside, or that have advertisements on the website that sell merchandise. Information websites are acceptable provided they do not sell merchandise on their website.
So I'm just going to say, that a place called tiger direct has some awesome deals. They have sales all the time, like a D-link G/B router with a internet sucrity suite for $5 after rebates! I didn't get it but I did get the internet sucrity suite with a bunch of retracting cables that come in a cool travel case:p for free after rebate, but after shipping I only make about $15 lol. But once I can start buying stuff in large amounts I won't have to pay as much on shipping. But I mean they have all kind of stuff free, it's just hard to find.
I'm hoping this will give me enough money by the end of the summer to buy a notebook. But I'll have to pay my parrents back the $50 that they loaned me to start off. But I've seen MoBos for $200 and a $90 rebate. So I could double the money lol. Does anyone else do this in there spair time?

No but one thing to be aware of is a lot of folks are getting caught by the IRS for selling on eBay and not reporting the income, the government has got inside of eBay and is looking for sellers that are making 100's of thousands without reporting it!
So an eBay business is just like any other, but since every transaction is recorded and reported to the government it is not an under the table business like selling at the flea market!
Don't worry about the above if your sales are under $5,000.00 a year, but once you get things going it must be run above board like any other legitimate business!
I wanted to photograph some stuff and list it on eBay but have not got around to it yet, but it is something I want to do!
The only one that will make money is the guy that took the $50.00 from you and your parents IMO.
Isn't this is a common internet biz scam? Selling affiliate accounts?
Good luck.

No, I bought a internet surcrity suite and after rebates I get "refunded" all but shipping, which is $8. So if I get the buyer to pay shipping and I sell it for $8.01 I still make a penny. lol
So I don't understand where your coming from...
Sounds better then what I thought it was. Good Luck. People love to buy stuff on ebay.

You go for it Kid ! Most kids your age these days just spend their Parents money and never think of making any . Your enthusiasm and youth will get you many things in this life ,we may be looking at the next Donald (only with real Hair hopefully). You will get more out of life with the way you are thinking than sitting around the house with your hand out .One word of caution with E-Bay is you want to build a good reputation by answering queries promptly and describing your products accurately and don't ship the Goods till the checks clear your bank . US Postal Money Orders are a good safe form of payment also. Good luck to you and let us know if we can help you in your endeavours.

Make sure you sell items as-is and any problems with defective merchandice is only covered by the MFG of what ever you sell. If you buy, just as an example:PC 3200 512 ram from some site like tiger and after rebates your total cost is...still this is an example, $20 bucks. After your ebay sale went for...Example....$30, they get the item and it is either bad, or they made it bad by some stupid act while installing.....if they expect you to warrenty the item it will end up costing you more in every respect and they trash your feedback either way.
I used to go to a forum ages ago...well been over a year since I actually stopped going, anyway there was a thread started about an ebay scammer and it became an internet legend, I actually followed the thread while it was going on and have found a link containing the whole thing. Everytime I think of ebay now, this thread comes to mind...well the Britney Spears fart in a tupperware bowl was funny too. Seriously, it is an interesting read.
