Hi all.
I'm curious what your thoughts are on the CMS's available for vBulletin.
I have to be honest....I only knew vB Portal existed, but now have discovered vB Advanced CMS.
Are there more?
Is any one better than the other?
If so why?
I put a heap of time and effort into vB Portal, but when the recent hacks for the front page of vBa were anounced I went snooping and t looks pretty good also. Curious as to what integrates better, or has nicer features.
I used to use vBIndex and switched to vBa CMPS on vBulletin 3.5. I've learned my way around it well and it does what I need and I can make it do most anything. So I'm sticking with vBa CMPS.

I am very happy with vB CMPS. It is easy to learn, gives you complete control over content, is well supported and their is an active mod group.
I used vBPortal in the past and switched when it took so long for their vB3.0 version to be released. Don't know how much they have improved with their new release, but I remember vBPortal added a lot of extra's I did not use or need.

Good comments. I've found that vB Portal has a LOT of good stuff! I dont use a lot of it, but its no biggy to switch it off. The new version seems to be a big improvement on the old and took me a bit of work to integrate so I dont know that I'll umplug it and move backwards.
Guess I'm just happy that there is choice if I need it :)

I've never been overly impressed by the currently available CMS options for vB. I'm waiting for the officially supported one its rumored Jelsoft will release.

vBridge for Joomla! (aka the New Mambo) is getting there.

Predator is trying to do it entirely without touching any vBulletin files. Not to mention 2 databases.
So if you wanted to ditch Joomla! your vBulletin would be entirely intact.
Nice eh.
There are some cookie problems at the moment.

I have begun the process of using Drupal through the vBdrupal integration hack
I hope to make this a success

sad to hear that adwade, as I had been watching the forum responses there and the support had become tardy to say the least
and this is what made me consider maybe not using CMPS in the same way as before.
I am trying to find a way to use various elements from the structure to incorporate into my forum set-up, still haven't got there yet though

Wow. I found just the opposite. I was using vBa's CMPS to start with, but Brian was so busy with getting Zoints & and running that basic simple inquiries from newbies such as myself were going unanswered for months. After several pleas for help falling on deaf ears, I swapped over to http://www.subdreamer.com and have been happy with their assistance along the way so far.LOL. Well, that was my comment a year ago. ;) I have not needed support or visited their site too often since then.
I have been trying out vBdrupal (http://www.vbdrupal.org/) on a test site. It has a lot of potential. It links the vB database with the CMS drupal (http://drupal.org/) structure. IMHO, much easier to learn than Joomla/Mambo.
