DVD Burner

I instaled some dvd cloning software and when ever I put a dvd in to burn my whole system restarts? anyone experience this problem?

Where did you get the software? Could it have been infected with a virus?

Wow that was a quick response. I ran spybot and my antivirus and no virus's show up. The person that gave it to me has been using the software and it works fine.

Did your DVD Burner work before with another prog or is this the first time you tried it.

It burned one dvd. Then this problem happened when I tried another one. The burner is brand new.

did the computer come with the DVD or did you install it or have it done? and did you use this friends prog to burn the one DVD or another prog?

I used the same prog that burned the first dvd successfully.I instaled the burner myself. Also I just doenloaded an anti virus you recommended in another thread (http://www.free-av.com/) how do I get this off my computer? it's going haywire and I can't find it in add/remove programs?

did you use this friends prog to burn the one DVD or another prog?
I did not ask you to install anything else ,so please stick to the questions we have so far and we will try and iron this thing out . As to uninstalling the prog you just installed (Virus Prog) See if it is listed in your progarams under your Start Menu at bottom of screen and then look for an uniinstall link there . If you burned the DVD with a prog that came with it and it stopped then you may have a bad DVD Burner and if it stopped working after you used your Friends prog then remove it and try it with the software that ccame with the DVD burner asuminfg you bought it new with the CD....

The cloning software doesn't come with the burners so I can't use what came with the burner. The only reason I downloaded the antivirus software is because I noticed a persons comp was restarting in another thread and thats what was recommended. I thought it could have been a bad virus as was stated in that other thread. I was trying to save your time by reading other threads, not trying to make things difficult.
