Grisoft AV stops my OE emails from coming...

(I have Win98se, OE 6.0, IE 6.0, Dell Dimension XPS T450MHz Pentium III - no firewall)

Hello, I wonder if anyone had this happened?

When my subscription to Norton LiveUpdate expired I decided to download the free Grisoft program but this caused my OE to stop sending in my incoming emails. I deleted Grisoft and all my emails poured in fine.

My question: Would anyone know if there's anything I can do to make Grisoft do its work without interfering with my emails?

Or, should I go back to Norton AV??

Or, find another AV elsewhere?

Change the security settings in the AVG to low ; this will put it in learning mode and should allow you to use your outlook . Personally I would delete all of outlook and get another e-mail prog before ditching my Virus protection ...

Thank you, Imnob, I'll re-install Grisoft and will follow the suggestion you so kindly are giving me.

You are right, I should get rid of ANYTHING Microsoft...they are getting more and more difficult to contact...among other things, but OE came with my cable modem, and I don't like the web-based emails. Any suggestions as to which ones are good and with low or zero price??? :)

one other thing is to go to Microsquashes web site and check for updates to your system .... especially IE
