Have a virus need help....

just bought this computer from friend for 50 bucks that he messed up and fixed the load up part then when i started to go on the internet, 30 seconds later all these pages start poping up that are my home page and it does this till the computer crashes so i unplug internet and try to remove the virus but my virus protection dosn't detect it. my virus protection its pcillin by trend micro if any one knows of this or how to get rid of it and pelase post thanks in advance

Go get a spam blocker or firewall blocker and install it on the computer you are having probs with such as Zone Alarm it has a free version then get your virus prog updated .

And as mentioned in the 25 dollar computer section go get spybot search and destroy. It's free and it works. you have spyware my friend. You need a spyware scanner to go along with your Anti-Virus. Nobs is correct also.... A firewall will help keep some of this stuff at bay, and you HAVE to keep your PC-illan up to date. Right click on it and choose to update it. (down by the clock)
