topic^^ please help, i need to replace mine unless any of you can sort out my problem.......
well the story starts, i dont have a DVD player in my house but i have a TV and a PC so i thought about buying one of these Pc to TV kits so i did and i used an s-video cable for the video and it worked fine and it was great, but the writing was a little hard to read so i thought about plugging in my moniter and my tv into my PC at the same time so i could select the movie on the moniter and watch it on my TV, but then it stopped working( only on my TV though the moniter still works fine), ive replaced all the cords and the boxy thing that plugs into my TV and used another TV, so i came to the conclusion it must be my PC so i opened it up and had a look and nothing seemed wrong.
So ive either got to replace the card with moniter and TV out socket in, so theres something wrong with the settings on my PC that one of you guys will be able to help with plz, i'd be so grateful.
if it helps im running windows xp.
thankyou for your time.

You did not specify what video card you have, and that information would be useful for diagnosing your problem. A lot of TV capable video cards won't handle outputting to both the TV and the monitor at the same time. In that case, it would be an either/or situation, and you should be able to switch back and forth between the two with the software supplied with the card.

At first glance at the NVIDIA web site, I couldn't tell whether it was capable of putting out both signals at the same time, but I didn't really dig around a lot. Go to http://www.nvidia.com/page/pg_20030304335345.html and start searching from there. Hit the support pages and try to find the information that you need. Drivers and software for your card are available from that site also.

Good luck!

Well if it has both a DB15 (monitor) out, and a S-Video (TV) out it should have a hot key sequence to switch back and forth even if it doesn't support both outputs at the same time. Read up on the help system for the software for the card and try to figure it out. Decide if you can live with the way the card works before you spend that short cash.
