There is a new virus floating around. It's called W32/Gaelicum.A. It is a true virus, not a trojan, and it affects every .exe on your system/network. Norton has definitions for it, but so far AVG doesn't. Be extremely careful with this bug folks. If you get infected you can pretty much expect to have to reload every .exe on your box. Removal is easy, but tedious. Danger level is low, but it is a pain in the a** to fix.

Thought I'd move this out of PM in case other peeps are having trouble.

Hi,

I've just read your post about the virus Win32/Gaelicum.A and you said "removal is easy, but tedious". Could you please tell me how I can remove the virus because it has deleted so many of my exe files and I would like to get rid of the virus.

The reason I've PMed you is because I'm still waiting for my activation e-mail. Could you please PM/e-mail/post (in thread) me back?

Thank you so much!

CharenceIt looks like this virus has been re-named as W32.Licum. You can get removal instructions at http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.licum.html

Anti-Vir and AVG now have signatures for it.
