Is there a place (or company) to go on the web that will tell you what new hardware is compatible with your current system? For example: I am wanting to buy a new graphics card and new processor; not wanting to put out for a entire new system.
Most systems today are a MotherBoard with a built in Video card. It is the whoile system really.
Alot do come with a seperate video card too, but upgrading a processor is usually not viable and in the end, you wind up with a "new" system.

Pretty much if you're going to build a system you should have the knowlege of how the things work. It's pretty easy to put together but getting the right parts and pieces can be rough.
Not to mention it's cheaper to buy a whole system than it is to build one anyway. As far as compatibility.... If you buy an amd cpu or an intel cpu the only compatibility issues are the motherboard and ram. If your shopping on line you just look up the respective motherboard and it'll tell you what ram to get. Same thing if you buy the stuff locally. The computer stores will guide you in the right direction. Once you get your processor and motherboard the manual in your motherboard will tell you what type of hardware your computer can accept.
Good luck regardless of what you choose
