I don't know if this is what you are asking but...
Right click on may computer, go to hardware tab and then click the firs button (device manager) search for anything related to USB and then right click on it and click activate

Did not see your post on XP , If it does not show anything in system properties (Device Manager ) then you will have to go to Bios and see if you can Configure it there .To reach the bios setup you need to hit "delete" or sometimes "f2" when you computer is just starting up. Thats before the windows logo, and a couple seconds after you hear your fans startup. You must really be carefull in bios if you are not familiar as you can really screw things up if you don't know where or what to do .

Don't get in such a Hurry ....sheesh :D again anyone get that i cant get into bios
You will have to reset it by clearing the CMOS MEMORY and again you are treading on thin ice and heading for what ya prob ought to do anyway and just format the thing and a fresh install of everything you want but here goes .
To clear the CMOS memory, power down you system and remove this battery (you will probably need a flathead screwdriver to do it) for 5-10 minutes, then pop it back in and turn your system on. You will be prompted to set the BIOS defaults. From the BIOS screen, save and exit, and the password should no longer be set.

First off I said BATTERY not Batter ... :D and There are other ways to reset the bios but you need to know some info on the Mother Board to find the CMOS jumper and if you don't have any Doccumentation or Board Specs your best bet is to Remove the CMOS Battery which is located on the Mother Board inside the Case of the Computer and depending on the age of your computer it may be Soldered in in which case you will really need some skills to remove but at any rate if you feel comfortable with the insides of the Computer you can open the case and look for the Battery which will hopefully be at one end of the Board and be a shinny disc about the size of a nickel and remove it as previously stated . If it is not the push in type then you really ought to take to a service tech ........And PLEASE UNPLUG THE POWER CORD BEFORE YOU GO DOING SURGERY!!!!
