when i try to download video files my download doesnt start and instead windows media player comes up and starts to stream.

please help.

I think if ya right click and use save as instead, you get a box to check that makes sure ya download instead of play.

If I'm wrong, these guys will correct me pretty quick. :D

there are sites like megaupload and friendlysharing that dont allow that, they have a download button that i must press.

i have DAP and Flashget and tried to make them defaults but since i cant resume the download from those sites they arent working.

Simply.
In WMP select File and then Save as...

Err same as above but what Video are ya trying to dnl. and if you have Media Player in your start up then you need to disable it! Then save the file where ever

Some sites restrict you from saving the file all together. Even though the button says download, they actually mean to download it to your default player to watch without the ability to save.

I've gotten around this on some sites by looking at the web pages source code to see where the actual file is stored and change the address path. Then it would download.
