I used to work with FrontPage but people say that this is alot better

Never used frontpage myself...and do most of my work in notepad for websites. I do have Dreamweaver and find that it is pretty easy to use. I just dont care for all of the extra code it puts into a page.
You can be alot more efficient if you just use notepad....however it takes alot more time to do so....unless you are fluent in HTML/XHTML.
The other good thing that you get with the Macromedia package is Fireworks and Flash...which are good apps to edit/create graphics and flash movies.
