Well the way things are set, the full description is utilized for SEO reasons. The intention if to make the user create a decent title that makes sense when they read it.

I dunno. It's not alot to ask. I have people wanting more fields. Problem is, things can look like hell if all are not filled out.

I don't want to get to complicated or too simple. But the new vBPicGallery is 50 characters for each of those fields, so maybe we'll make just the first one required. I'll ponder it.

The new vBPicGallery has a new setting to limit the number of galleries a user can have too.

P.S. vBGarage is no longer being coded or supported due to the possibility of some copyright issues. The new vBPicGallery is not compatable with vBGarage.

That is correct, there is no longer a vBGarage. magnus has yet to contact me as to whether he wants permission to use my code.

Just like vBulletin and SMF and other bulletin boards offer a conversion utility when you want to switch products, there will be a utility to transfer vBGarage data to the vBPicGallery Database.

There will be no templates, phrases, or settings from vBGarage that are compatable with vBPicGallery, you will have to do a conversion.

As long as with instruction provided, i dun think that be a problem for any webmaster. :)

I think I will make one required and the other two can be optional with a control in the ACP to change them to required if needed.

OK, I've been mulling over custom fields and I think I know how to get it done.

I'm going to come up with a way to create custom fields and then those custom fields will be inserted into the text window of the gallery.

Something like add custom field name and length. If it exists a custom field is created on the create new gallery form and passed and inserted into the text box formatted.

This way the html is dynamic but the DB stays as is.

I will work it out. This way we will not get so many empty text boxes. Plus any topic will be able to use it and any number of new custom fields can be added.

I have this in use on my site now. I have to code an ACP page to add, edit and order custom fields now.
